GMC C3500 Pickup Models

Select The Year Of Your Vehicle Below

The GMC C3500 Pickup released in the 1950s, but these days, the ones you can get parts for are from between 1984, just after the middle of the third generation, and 2000, when the truck was discontinued.

The "C" in the model's name indicates it has a two-wheel drivetrain (2WD); the "3500" indicates its size -- one ton. Early on, it was available in base, High Sierra, and Sierra Classic trims; later, trims like Sierra, Sierra SLE, Sierra SLX, and Sierra SLT were available. You could choose from among six-cylinder and V8 gas and eight-cylinder diesel engines, and there was even a V8 engine option that took compressed natural gas (CNG). Features over the years ranged from a four-door crew cab configuration and a leaf-spring rear suspension to dual rear wheels.

In 1987, the line was renamed with an R prefix temporarily; this distinguished it from its fourth generation, which came out for sale simultaneously. It even became the GMC Sierra Classic briefly, until going out of production.
